ANNOUNCEMENTS: to be read in 1^st period classes

Guidance Announcements   The PSAT will be administered on Saturday, October 15th at 7:30am in the gym at Stowe High School. The cost is $20. Checks must be made payable to Stowe High School. See Charlene to register. The deadline for juniors to register is TODAY, Friday, September 30th. Space permitting, sophomores may register from Monday, October 3rd through Monday, October 10th. There are a limited number of seats (60) so please register as soon as possible.   Attention Seniors – UVM will waive their application fee for any Vermont students applying through Early Action Program, with the application deadline of November 1st. (Note UVM uses the online Common Application).   College visits: Washington University in St. Louis – Monday, October 3rd at 1:30pm Saint Michael's College – Tuesday, October 4th at 9:30am Skidmore College – Wednesday, October 5th at 10:15am Elon University – Wednesday, October 5th at 1:00pm University of Maine Orono – Tuesday, October 11th at 8:00am University of Vermont – Friday, October 14th at 9:45am St. Lawrence University – Tuesday, October 18th at 8:00am Lafayette College – Monday, October 24th at 11:00am University of Rochester – Wednesday, October 26th at 8:00am Roger Williams University – Tuesday, November 1st at 8:00am ·         CLUBS – If you have NOT signed up with your TA for a club you must do it TODAY, Friday, September 30th. Those who wish to purchase a package may do so by paying the full amount to the photographer at the time your picture is taken. Please be sure to fill out all the information on the picture form that is requested. Packages will not be produced for students who do not pay at the camera. All students must be photographed for school student ID cards. Students, family members, friends, faculty and staff are encouraged to play! The cost per team is $25, checks made out to Stowe Middle School. Proceeds will go toward the 8th grade Chinese class trip to Boston Chinatown. Volunteers are needed for parking, serving food, working the kid's area, selling pretzels and other jobs. Signup sheet in the high school office. Old News: ·         Attention students – the high school office will not be handing out Poster Board for anything other than school projects. ·         Announcement from the Bus Barn – Change in the bus order in the afternoon. The bus line starting closes to the soccer field – Bus 3, Joe's bus, Bus 1, Donna's bus, Bus 50, Brian's bus (Wolcott bus), bus 2, John's bus, and Bus 5, Cathy's bus. ·         Cotton Brook Fun Run!! Come check it out. Every Tuesday at 5:20pm runners, joggers, and walkers gather to participate in the Cotton Brook Fun Run. Choose a half mile, 1 mile, 2.2 mile or the ever challenging 5k. It is a great way to improve overall strength and endurance. Meet below the gate in Cotton Brook every Tuesday through late October.

FACULTY: TODAY, Friday, September 30th school picture day a faculty/staff group photo will be taken at 7:45am promptly. If the weather is good, the photo will be taken outside by the courtyard, if not we will have an alternative location inside. Faculty and staff will be called over the PA system when the photographer is ready. All new faculty and staff please make sure to have your photo taken TODAY, Friday, September 30th school picture day. The school photographer will be in the building from 7:30 – 10:00am. These photos are necessary for your photo ID lanyard that must be worn by all faculty and staff for security purposes. All faculty and staff that would like a new photo taken for the new school year or has lost their photo lanyard please also see the photographer between 7:30 – 10:00am TODAY. FACULTY: TODAY, Tuesday, September 27th Class Elections will take place during TA. Grade 9 will also vote on Student Leadership. On Friday, September 30th school picture day a faculty/staff group photo will be taken at 7:45am. promptly. Guidance Announcements   The PSAT will be administered on Saturday, October 15th at 7:30am in the gym at Stowe High School. The cost is $20. Checks must be made payable to Stowe High School. See Charlene to register. The deadline for juniors to register is this Friday, September 30th. Space permitting, sophomores may register from Monday, October 3rd through Monday, October 10th. There are a limited number of seats (60) so please register as soon as possible.   Attention Seniors – UVM will waive their application fee for any Vermont students applying through Early Action Program, with the application deadline of November 1st.
